Cloris Leachman (born April 30, 1926) is an American actress of stage film and television. She has won eight primetime Emmy Awards—more than any other female performer—and one Daytime Emmy Award. She won an Academy Award for Best SupportingActress in the 1971 film The Last Picture Show. She is best known for playing the nosy, self-centered and manipulative landlady Phyllis Lindstrom on the 1970s TV series Mary Tyler Moore, and later on the spin-off series, Phyllis. She also appeared in three Mel Brooks films, including Young Frankenstein and High Anxiety. In recent years, she became very popular for her recurring role as Lois’s ruthless mother Ida, on Malcolm in the Middle. She currently stars in the new hit comedy Raising Hope (FOX), where she plays the wacky grandmother “Maw Maw” to the delight of audiences. Cloris has been nominated recently for her role in Raising Hope….I loved Cloris in the Mary Tyler Moore Show…..One of my all time fav sows…..When I was a kid….

We had the total delight of photographing her recently in our studio and can I say that it was such an amazing experience to photograph such an amazing professional actress and show girl…Thank you Cloris for putting up with us…..

Recently the 2011 summer edition of NIKON WORLD arrived at our CHERIEFOTO STUDIO door  AND TO OUR SURPRISE THERE ON THE COVER WAS ONE OF OUR IMAGES… IT’s one of our favorite images shot  downtown Los Angeles’ Union Station  with the NIKON D700 and the new  NIKON 24-120 Zoom Lens….this shot was also one of many images we made for the brochure for the then New Nikon D700,  which we shot and helped produce for Nikon before the D700 was first released….

Way back when I got my first 35 mm camera, it was A Nikon F film camera,  one of my dreams was to get an image on the pages of Nikon World…The quarterly publication produced by Nikon USA and available by subscription.

Well in the current issue of Nikon World magazine,  Cherie and I have 10 images…we are so excited…

NIKON WORLD was one of many photographic  publications that we sent our images to across the USA and Canada. and we currently  also have an ad Advertorial  with Nikon USA which is in the new issue of RANGEFINDER magazine.

Everyday we are so excited to do what we do at Cheriefoto because we are relentless in our pursuit of making compelling and award
winning images… so we are always coming up with new ideas and finding new ways to execute them, so we rent gear
that we don’t have, to try out to help keep us tuned at the top of our game.

We know that marketing may be the most important part of our business but Cherie and I are big on technique so we experiment a lot with different lights and lenses to add to our basic kit which consist of Nikon D3, D700 and D7000 bodies and a stack of Nikon speed lights….On these bodies we can fit just about every Nikon lens ever made, we have the basic Nikon zooms but lately we have been shooting with all the new fast prime lenses that Nikon has been releasing : 24mm f1.4,  35mm f1.4, 50mm f1.4, 85mm 1.4,  even though we have several zooms that cover that range.

These fast lenses along with the Nikon D3, D3S and D700 can shoot in extreme low light at ISO 6400 and get exceptional results with very little noise with the images we capture….  and I find myself shooting at ISO 1600 regularly, like the way we used to shoot Tri-X film, except with much better control over the exposure.

These tools are helping us push the boundaries of photography and helps us to create images that were never before possible….thank you Nikon!

So as you can see the blog has gone back burner..Not because I want it to…Just because OMG who has time for everything these days…In between shooting and traveling everything else seems to take so much time…Anyone else having this issue? Love to hear from you…..Just got back from WPPI…..Talked for Nikon at their booth..was such a highlight as always…We had 2 images up at the booth that Nikon blew up large….So fun to see that…Pics coming on that…Recent work…Just catching everyone up on that so this is a bunch of different shoots over the past month….From fashion to portraits, to babies to D3100 shoot for Nikon…to Boudoir to Venetian Masks….There is a very wide variety here..as you can see….Hope you enjoy…Working on a huge fashion shoot the next few days..Will keep you all posted….

We shot a wonderful camera for Nikon the D3100 a very cool consumer camera very small compact good for travel and just carrying a camera..and makes kick ass movies…..will load that soon……Our little model is a girl name Monserrat…..She was a pro…and she had a great time taking these images and doing the movie…Look out Hollywood for her….She is a star……

a girl named Dani…We did a modeling portfolio for Dani..and think she will be an amazing model..She is actually doing her first fashion shoot with us…This weekend….We loved her so much…..Go Dani….

This is our good friend Lacey Lee..carrying Lily Lee…..To come here in May……We had the pleasure of
shooting our good friend Lacy and her guy Jordon…The baby daddy…..last week….Here in LA..They came from NYC
to shoot and have the baby shower which we also went to…It is so much fun to see friends adopted nieces and the
kids just growing up and living large……We are super good friends with the almost Grandmother Lori Susan…!!!

More babies…more babies…Well I guess after we do all the weddings the babies come and then we get to see
our Bride’s and Groom’s again finally…This was Shira and Scott…We did their wedding a couple of years ago and lost contact and then there they were ready for baby pics……
